Our Spiritual Identity in Christ Series

Below you will find a collection of verses that describe our inheritance in Christ.

Heirs of the promise:

Romans 4:16-17
"For this reason it is by faith, that it might be in accordance with grace, in order that the promise may be certain to all the descendants, not only to those who are of the Law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all, [17] (as it is written, "a father of many nations have I made you") in the sight of Him whom he believed, even God, who gives life to the dead and calls into being that which does not exist."

Romans 8:17
"and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him in order that we may also be glorified with Him."

Galatians 3:7-14
"Therefore, be sure that it is those who are of faith who are sons of Abraham. [8] And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, "All the nations shall be blessed in you. [9] So then those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham the believer. [10] For as many as are of the works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not abide by all things written in the book of the Law, to perform them" [11] Now that no-one is justified by the Law before God is evident; for, "The righteous man shall live by faith. [12] However, the Law is not faith; on the contrary, "He who practices them shall live by them." [13] Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us -- for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"--[14] in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith."

Galatians 3:29
"And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to promise."

Galatians 4:7
"Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God."

Ephesians 1:9-11
"He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His intention which He purposed in Him [10] with a view to an administration suitable to the fulness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things upon the earth. In Him [11] also we have been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will,"

Princes & Princesses:

Psalm 145:1
"I will extol You, my God, O King; and I will bless Your name forever and ever."

Psalm 145:10-13
"All Your works shall give thanks to You, O Lord, and Your godly ones shall bless you. [11] They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom, and talk of Your power; [12] to make known to the sons of men Your mighty acts, and the glory of the majesty of your kingdom. [13] Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures throughout all generations."

Galatians 4:7
"Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a child; and if child, then an heir through God."

Romans 8:17
"and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him in order that we may also be glorified with Him."

Ephesians 1:3
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,"

Ephesians 1:18-21
"I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, [19] and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe, in accordance with the working of the strength of His might [20] which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, [21] far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in the one to come."

Ephesians 1:11
"also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will."

Colossians 3:23,24
"Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men; [24] knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve."

Hebrews 11:16
"But as it is, they desire a better country, that is a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them."

1 Peter 1:4,5
"to obtain an inheritance imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, [5] who are protected by the power of God for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."

1 Peter 2:9,10
"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; [10] for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy."

1 Cor. 3:21-23
"So then, let no one boast in men. For all things belong to you, [22] whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or things present or things to come; all things belong to you, [23] and you belong to Christ; and Christ belongs to God."
